Abuja Nigeria, October 9, 2025: In a pivotal moment for Nigeria’s scientific community, Prof. Viola Onwuliri, the former supervising minister of foreign affairs and minister of state for education, today presented a compelling case at the National Assembly for the establishment of the Nigerian Institute of Chartered Biochemists and Molecular Biologists. Currently a distinguished professor of biochemistry at the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) and a proud native of Amuzi Mbaise, Prof. Onwuliri emphasized the necessity of a professional body dedicated to regulating and promoting the practice of biochemistry and molecular biology in Nigeria.
