
Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria/New York USA, November 29, 2021: Mbaise Policy Roundtable (MPR), a non-governmental organization with offices in Owerri Imo State Nigeria and New York, USA, has recently appointed Mr Kennedy Onwunali to coordinate her (MPR) Campaign Against Drug Abuse (MCADA).
According to the communication of his appointment through the MPR Chairman Professor Eddie Oparaoji. Mr Onwunali as Coordinator is expected to be the organization’s , incidents reporting desk- to receive reports of known or suspected drug abuse activities; liaison with local and State resources to intervene on actionable drug abuse situations; brief MPR leadership regularly on active and ongoing cases; leader in efforts to create awareness and coordinate intervention resources among leaderships of the Catholic, Anglican and Pentecostal Churches as well as associations of traditional rulers in Mbaise, to expand efforts in awareness creation on the dangers of consuming METH drug. He may also propose to MPR leadership as needed other measures to fight the menace of drug abuse in our community. In accepting the appointment Mr Onwunali said, “I will not disappoint you, MPR and the people of Mbaise in this assignment”.
It must be recalled that Mr Onwunali was also recently appointed the Imo State volunteer club Chairman of the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCANOV)- a community driven program of the Nigeria police force aimed at sensitizing different stakeholders on the dangers of cultism and other vices. The appointment which was described as a welcome development for Imo State by the Chairman of MPR Professor Eddie Oparaoji was reported in the recent Silver News Newspaper Online of November 27, 2021
As reported in the publication, “The Chief Executive Officer of Silvernews Communication/ Heartland Fm and POCACOV Stakeholder From Imo State , Kennedy Onwunali is now the POCACOV Volunteer Club Chairman of Imo State. This was disclosed by the National Coordinator POCACOV ,CSP Ebere Amaraizu while reacting on the progress of the numerous program and community driven activities of POCACOV such as “POCACOV In My Community”, “Never Too Late to Discover Yourself”, Say No to Recidivism, and POCACOV in My Family and POCACOV in My school”, amongst others which is ongoing Nationwide for a safe, peaceful and secured communities”.

“According to the National Coordinator, Kennedy Onwunali as a POCACOV Stakeholder , was given this responsibility in view of his community peace building pedigree and his continual ability and efforts on the activity base program with the use of the instrumentality of sports for youth value reorientation, self discovery and strategic leadership direction and the overall community peace, safety and security. Kennedy Onwunali is currently the Chief Executive officer of Silvernews Communication Publishers of Silver News and Wakawaka Sports Extra and Newspaper online and Heartland Fm . He is also of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, Member Association of Imo State Radio and Televisions Presenters Association and Member, Professional Players Union”
