MPR 2026 Summit Set to Power an Ambitious  100 million Naira Credit Access for Mbaise. Farmers*

*New York, September 24, 2025*: In a bold move toward enhancing food security and economic stability in rural communities, the Mbaise Policy Roundtable (MPR), in collaboration with Array Ventures, is set to host the MPR 2026 Annual Global Summit. This will be held as follows:

Date: January 2, 2026

Venue:: Oganihu Eziala Event Center, off Eke Nguru market, Aboh Mbaise LGA, Imo State

Time::  10 AM Prompt

This year’s theme, “Food Security and Cluster Farming – The Foundation for Health and Economic Stability in Rural Communities,” encapsulates the summit’s mission to empower local farmers and transform the agricultural landscape of Mbaise.

As the world grapples with the pressing challenges of food insecurity, the MPR is taking proactive steps to ensure that farmers in Mbaise are not left behind. The summit aims to catalyze the creation of a groundbreaking initiative that will provide 100 million Naira in credit access for Mbaise farmers by attracting new external funding to invigorate agriculture in the region.

With an initial credit allocation of 20 million Naira for 2025 designated for 10 cluster farms, the MPR is committed to equipping local farmers with essential resources, modern farming techniques, and improved infrastructure. This funding is poised to significantly boost productivity and sustainability, setting the stage for a thriving agricultural sector. The ambitious goal of raising the total funding to 100 million Naira by 2026 is anchored in a substantial 200 billion Naira investment from the Federal Government of Nigeria and the Bank of Industry, aimed at benefiting 50,000 small-scale farmers nationwide.

The innovative cluster farming model not only fosters collaboration and resource sharing among farmers but also ensures a steady supply of high-quality produce that meets nutritional standards. By addressing the dual challenges of food insecurity and economic instability, the initiative promises to uplift the local economy, generate employment opportunities, and enhance the overall quality of life for the community.

Moreover, the summit emphasizes the vital link between healthy nutrition and overall health outcomes. With improved access to fresh and nutritious food, the initiative seeks to combat malnutrition and promote the well-being of community members, ultimately contributing to a more productive and resilient population.

The Chairman of the Mbaise Policy Roundtable Prof Eddie Oparaoji expressed his determination, stating, “Access to loans is critical for encouraging farming and increasing output by providing farmers with the necessary capital to invest in modern technologies, purchase essential inputs, and expand operations. This access enables farmers o increase their productivity and manage the inherent risks of agriculture. We are glad and determined to make Mbaise the food capital of Imo State.”

The MPR 2026 Annual Global Summit represents a strategic investment in the future of rural communities, as it seeks to create a sustainable agricultural ecosystem that serves as a model for rural development across Mbaise and beyond. With the support of Array Ventures and federal financial resources, the MPR is poised to lead the charge toward a healthier, more prosperous future for Mbaise’s farmers and the community at large.
